What is a university license?

A University license is an Enginius license prepaid by a university or business school for a specific number of seats. These seats are then distributed to students by their instructor.

Students don’t pay anything.

Price depends on the number of seats (bulk discount applies), the duration of the license (e.g., 6 or 12 months), and the models and case studies included in the license.

Once you order a university license, you automatically receive an instruction sheet (in pdf format) which contains a unique, 16-digit license code. You then distribute these instructions to your students. They will be required to register on the Enginius website, and enter the 16-digit license code.

As soon as they register, they will have access to the Enginius platform and all the models and case studies you have selected for them.

No. Very much like traditional case studies, the number of seats your university needs to purchase is determined by the total number of students that will be using Enginius, regardless of how the students will use it.

Each seat is associated with one and only one student and email address. If the system determines that a seat is used by more than one individual, the license will be blocked.

Unfortunately, no. The number of seats your university needs to purchase is determined by the total number of students that will be using Enginius.

If 40 students will use it in the Fall, and 40 will use it in the Spring, you need to buy 80 licenses, even if only a total of 40 licenses will be active at any point in time. Remember that once a seat has been attributed to a student, it cannot be attributed to another student later.

The license will expire at the same date for everyone, usually after 6 or 12 months of its purchase, depending on the license length you have selected. If you are buying a license for a course that will start in the future, you can set the start date of the license at a future date, though, so you can purchase it earlier without losing any days.

What is a student license?

A student license is a license purchased by the students themselves. The university or business school does not pay for it.

It depends on the duration of the license (e.g., 6 or 12 months), and the models and case studies included in the license.

To run a simulation, click on the button above and “Request a quote”.

As an instructor, you first select the characteristics of the Enginius license you want your students to have. This includes the license duration, the models they should be able to run, the case studies they should have access to.

The system will automatically generate an instruction sheet (a pdf file) including a unique, 8-digit purchase code. You then distribute this instruction sheet to your students. They will be invited to register on the Enginius website, and use the 8-digit purchase code to buy the Enginius license you have prepared for them.

No. Like traditional case studies, we ask that each student purchase their own license. Each license is associated with one and only one student and email address. If the system determines that a license is used by more than one individual, the license will be blocked.

It will expire 6 or 12 months after the student has effectively purchased it, depending on the license duration you have specified.

Instructor license

What is an instructor license?

All instructors currently teaching in academic institutions are granted an instructor license, automatically. This license is not limited in any ways, and never expires.

You need to register as an instructor first. To do so, you will need to demonstrate that you are currently an instructor in an academic, degree-granting institution.

Educational organizations such as Udemy or Coursera do not qualify. If you fail to give adequate proof of your academic affiliation, the instructor status will be denied.

Once you have registered and your instructor status has been verified and validated (it may take up to two business days), simply log in to the Enginius dashboard. Your complimentary instructor license will automatically appear.

None. It gives you full access to all models, case studies and resources, with no limitation.

If you are using it for a commercial application (e.g., consulting), you are invited to purchase a commercial license, but we do not deploy checks to enforce that rule. It is honor-based only.

Absolutely, and it is free. You are encouraged to do so. We are instructors ourselves, and we want to help you teach marketing analytic concepts as easily as possible. If it involves using your instructor license for demo purpose in class, by all means, do it (and tell us how it went).

However, you cannot distribute any content or material to your students, including case studies, exercises, data sets, or teaching resources, unless you have purchased a university license for the adequate number of seats. And obviously, you are not authorized to share your credentials (i.e., email and password) with your students either. Any infringement of our copyrighted material will result at a minimum in the ban of your account and an official complaint to your university.

Never.

(But it can be revoked at any time in case of copyright infringement.)
