Once you order a university license, you automatically receive an instruction sheet (in pdf format) which contains a unique, 16-digit license code. If 40 students will use it in the Fall, and 40 will use it in the Spring, you need to buy 80 licenses, even if only a total of 40 licenses will be active at any point in time. However, you cannot distribute any content or material to your students, including case studies, exercises, data sets, or teaching resources, unless you have purchased a university license for the adequate number of seats. And obviously, you are not authorized to share your credentials (i.e., email and password) with your students either.
